چکیده
Since bakeries are scattered all over Nigeria and beyond, such feed materials like bakery waste abound this can be tapped as a resource for poultry having little pressure of competition. A feeding trial 6 weeks duration was conducted to determine the effect replacing maize with CP; 3.32% ME; 3221.88kcal/kg on performance growing Japanese quails. Two hundred two –week old quails mixed sexes were randomly allocated five diets in completely randomized design. The isonitrogenous (25% CP) incorporated 0, 8.31, 16.61, 24.92 28.69% at expense maize. diets, however, varied energy levels from 2,706.92 (Diet A) 2,610.76kcal/kg ME E). Diets B (2,679.17), C (2,650.57) D (2,623.75) lower than diet A. Each replicated three times. Feed intake (21.99, 20.34, 21.25, 23.83 22.97g/bird/day), weight gain (3.39, 3.29, 3.46, 3.61, 3.75g/bird/day) conversion ratio (6.32, 6.17, 6.16, 6.62 6.31) did not differ significantly control. Water higher (p<0.05) (33.78ml/b/day) (30.90) (30.99) only. (31.89) E (32.91ml/bird/day) different. cost/kg birds dietsB (632.00) (617.67) (542.33) (550.67) Other differences significant. Live weight, slaughter plucked drumstick better 100% waste. cost per kg decreased 84.62 (diet 78.75 E) has saving 6.94% control diet. Therefore, could replace quail chicks without adverse performance.

The weekly liveweight gain, growing and stress parameters of quails bred using two different types of lighting for 6 weeks following hatching were examined in this study. The first type of lighting was 23 L:1 D, continuous lighting (CL), widely used in the commercial system and the second was a self-photoperiod (SP) system consisting of a continuously lit chamber and a dark chamber the quails c...

The effect of dietary Terbutaline, a beta adrenergic agonist, on carcass characteristics and blood attributes in 288 Japanese quails was studied from 21 through 49 days of age. Dietary treatments included four levels of Terbutaline [0 (T0), 1 (T1), 3 (T3), and 5 (T5) mg/Kg of the diet]. Quails were bled at the end of the trial for biochemical assays and the carcass characteristics were then mea...

The aim of this experiment was to determine the productive performance and egg quality of Japanese quails fed different types of processed rations (mash, extruded, or pelleted). One hundred and fortyfour 18-w-old quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) were housed in galvanized wire cages and fed a 21.50% CP and 2850 kcal ME/kg basal feed supplied in mash, extruded, or pelleted form. Experimental d...
متن کاملSpatial Orientation in Japanese Quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica)
Finding a given location can be based on a variety of strategies, for example on the estimation of spatial relations between landmarks, called spatial orientation. In galliform birds, spatial orientation has been demonstrated convincingly in very young domestic chicks. We wanted to know whether adult Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) without food deprivation are also able to use spat...

This experiment was conducted to determine the effects of oyster mushroom on performance and blood biochemical characteristics in Japanese quails (Coturnix Japonica). A total of 240 seven day old mix sexes quail chicks were randomly allocated to four experimental groups. Each treatment consisted of three replicate pens with 20 birds. Experimental groups included 0, 0.5, 1, 2% oyster mushroom in...
